Dr. Ann-Louise T. Lockhart, PsyD, ABPP

President & Owner, Pediatric Psychologist

As the Founder, President, and Owner of A New Day Pediatric Psychology, PLLC, Dr. Lockhart is passionate about serving the city of San Antonio and the state of Texas. She started her practice in January 2016 after practicing in the state for 10 years. 

 

She is a Pediatric Psychologist and Board Certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. She earned her Master's and Doctorate from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology in 2006 and completed her doctoral internship and 2-year post-doctoral fellowship both at Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center.

 

Originally from St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dr. Lockhart considers herself a "dual-citizen" of Texas and the Caribbean. She loves movies, fashion, and food. In her words: "I am passionate about what I do. I care about people and want the best for them in their lives. I have an easy-going, but direct therapeutic style. I believe people do best when they feel heard and have supportive people in their lives." Dr. Lockhart specializes in treating ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, and medical diagnoses.

 

Dr. Lockhart utilizes Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Hypnosis, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Modification, Parent Training, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) as therapeutic interventions. She sees patients of all ages.

Dr. Amanda Sharp, Ph.D

Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy), Clinical Psychology

Licensed Psychological Associate

Dr. Amanda Sharp earned her Doctorate in Psychology in 2018 and completed her internship conducting psychological evaluations for children and adolescents in foster care. She has been conducting assessments and providing diagnostic and treatment recommendations for children and adolescents for the last 4 years. She will provide testing and assessment services, parent education and resources. 

Dr. Sharp's educational and training background includes a variety of child, adolescent, and adult assessments; evaluations; and counseling and therapy services to adolescents and adults who have a history of exposure to trauma. While earning her Master's and Doctorate, Dr. Sharp provided counseling and volunteer service at the Rape Crisis Center. For the past 4 years, she has provided assessment services throughout Texas providing medical, psychiatric, and academic referrals. 

Her passion is providing children, adolescents, adults, and families with resources to thrive and grow.  She enjoys traveling, movies and food.

Dr. Kristen Criado, Ph.D

Pediatric Psychologist

PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), Clinical Psychology

Dr. Criado is a Pediatric Psychologist; she received her Master’s in 2004 and Doctorate in 2008 in Clinical Psychology from University of Florida. She completed her internship and 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Mailman Center for Child Development at the University of Miami. 

 

Dr. Criado works with young children and families to improve relationships, manage behavior, and enjoy one another. She also supports children, teens, and adults with medical conditions by teaching strategies to improve how they are taking their medications, cope with medical challenges, and thrive emotionally.

 

She is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families with medical conditions or behavioral concerns.

Dr. Criado uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Modification, Parent Training, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT; ages 2 to 6) as therapeutic interventions. She sees patients of all ages.

Kimberly Dawn Rodriguez

Behavior Consultant

Kimberly joined A New Day Pediatric Psychology on November 5, 2018 as a Behavior Consultant.

 

She has been an Occupational Therapy Assistant for 15 years and recently found her niche and passion for children approximately 10 years ago while working in a pediatric home health setting.

 

Kimberly was able to work with hundreds of children and families in their home and natural environment. It was then that she learned how to create individualized behavior approaches. She helps parents and kids by breaking down problems and finding the root and source of where/why they may feel disconnected. 

 

Kimberly was born and raised in San Antonio and is happily married with 5 children. 

Kimberly provides in-home behavior coaching and consulting services for children and families.

Angie Sheire

Doctoral Intern

Angie Sheire joined the team at A New Day on January 8, 2019. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of psychology. She is a year doctoral student at Capella University in the Clinical Psychology Program. Angie will be providing testing and assessment services, as well as individual therapy and parent coaching.

 

She will be under the supervision of Dr. Lockhart during the duration of her practicum. Angie is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and play therapy.

 

She currently resides in Canyon Lake, Texas with her husband and 15-year-old stepson. During her free time, they enjoy hanging out in the water, in particular tubing. She also enjoys reading, watching action movies, playing with her 2 “Fur babies” and cooking.


Having student trainees help us increase access to your care for behavioral health services. With having these high-quality trainees at A New Day, we are often able to see you sooner.

Ashley Mohesky

Featured Writer

Ashley Mohesky is a Featured Writer at A New Day Pediatric Psychology. She is currently a graduate student in Counseling Psychology at Angelo State University. In December 2017, she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work. Ashley has worked with children with special needs in the school system to ensure that they receive the same educational resources as other students. When she becomes a Licensed Professional Counselor, Ashley hopes to specialize in anxiety disorders. In her spare time, Ashley likes to bowl with her league, read books, and go to the lake to ride in an adaptable all-terrain vehicle.

Arjumand Yameen, BSc, CPC

Medical Billing Speciaist

Arjumand (pronounced "Ar-joo-mund") joined the team as a Medical Biller at A New Day Pediatric Psychology on February 1, 2018. With our growing practice and billing needs, she will provide assistance with claims, authorizations, and patient statements at A New Day Pediatric Psychology. 

Arjumand earned her diploma in Medical Billing and Coding and became a Certified Medical Coder. She has experience working with different medical specialties including General Surgery, Pain Management, and Cardiology. She enjoys learning new things and challenging herself. She has three children and loves spending time with them.

As healthcare becomes more complex, she will help our patients and providers navigate the frustrating insurance world.

Nica Marie Velasco

Virtual Administrative Assistant

Nica Marie Velasco joined the team as the Virtual Assistant at A New Day Pediatric Psychology on February 20, 2018. She will return prospective and current patient phone calls and emails, as well as schedule patient appointments.

 

Nica (pronounced "nee-ka") was in the customer service business as a supervisor for the last 9 years with the last 2 years focused on customer satisfaction. She was in charge of getting feedback from customers to come up with action plans to improve the service. 

 

Nica is a mother of 3 girls, a 6-year-old and 2-year-old twins. She recently left the corporate world to spend more time with her kids.
