A New Day Pediatric Psychology is primarily a self-pay practice. We only accept and file with Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBSTX) Insurance. This means payment is due at the time of scheduled services. You can pay by check or credit card. You can contact your own insurance company about completing paperwork to receive reimbursement for payment of services. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. If your insurance decides not pay for services received, it is your responsibility to cover the remaining balance. Please check your coverage by calling your insurance company directly.

Services Not Provided: We do not provide forensic evaluations, custody evaluations, or legal advice. Services offered by the practice are therapeutic in nature. We will not testify in court concerning possession, access, custody, or visitation in divorce or custody proceedings. In the event of a subpoena, you will incur a charge of $500.00 per hour (15-minute increments) for the time if we are required to appear in court. Payment of fees for our time is expected in advance. If you are looking for a psychologist or therapist to provide a forensic evaluation, we do not provide that service.

Payment:  Check or credit card. A valid and up-to-date credit card authorization form on file is required.

Cancellation Policy: If you do not show for your scheduled appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours (two business days) notice, you consent to be charged and are required to pay $130 for the missed session/late cancellation. This means Monday appointments will need to be canceled by the Thursday before, Tuesday appointments by Friday, and Wednesday appointments by Monday. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, you must contact A New Day Pediatric Psychology directly by phone or email. Your insurance company will not pay for late cancellations and no-shows. It is solely the patient's responsibility. You are required to keep a valid and up-to-date credit card on file.

New Patients: In order to schedule your initial appointment, you will provide a valid credit card number at the time you schedule your appointment. You will sign the Credit Card Authorization form when you arrive for your first appointment. If you cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours' notice (2 business days, Mon-Fri) or do not show on the day of your appointment, you agree to be charged the $130 late/no-show cancellation fee. To cancel an existing appointment, you must call us and leave a message or speak to a team member to avoid a late/no show cancellation charge.

TriCare Patients

A New Day Pediatric Psychology terminated our contract with TriCare on June 30, 2019. All current and inactive patients have been notified of this change. If you have any specific questions, please contact us. We will be happy to provide you with options and additional information. You may still have the option of seeing one of our providers and submitting a SuperBill to TriCare for partial or full reimbursement of services received. Ask your insurance provider for details.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Patients

As of October 29 2018, A New Day Pediatric Psychology is an in network provider with Blue Choice PPO plan and ParPlan provider with all other BCBSTX plans. As new providers come on board, it may take 30-90 days for them to be fully credentialed with BCBS. During this wait period, beneficiaries should expect to pay higher out of pocket or deducitble costs when receiving services.

What is ParPlan?

ParPlan is a contractual arrangement with BCBSTX and physicians or other health care professionals who agree to:

  • File members’ claims

  • Accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas’ allowable amount for covered services

  • Cooperate with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas’ utilization review activities

When a patient visits a ParPlan provider, they:

  • Pay their deductible and coinsurance, when applicable

  • May have to precertify their own care when required

  • Avoid paperwork because claims are generally filed for you

Because we are in-network provider with BCBSTX and are a Parplan provider, we can submit claims to BCBSTX and accept their allowed amount for covered services. As the patient, you are required to pay your deductible or copay and get preauthorization for services needed when required.

Authorization: You are required to obtain a referral from your PCM/Pediatrician for psychological testing. It is the patient's responsibility to get information about services for which they are eligible.

To confirm eligibility, please contact Blue Cross Blue Shield for your coverage information.

For NEW therapy and testing patients, there is no need to print out forms anymore.  Once you book your appointment, we will send you an email to complete several forms.
